Atezolizumab in combinatie met carboplatine-paclitaxel-bevacizumab als eerstelijns behandeling voor gemetastaseerd niet-plaveiselcellig niet-kleincellig longcarcinoom

Toevoeging van atezolizumab aan eerstelijns behandeling met carboplatine-paclitaxel-bevacizumab bij patiënten met een niet-plaveiselcellig NSCLC in goede conditie, zonder EGFR-mutatie of ALK-herschikking, laat een verlenging van de PFS met 1,5 maanden zien (mediaan 8,3 versus 6,8 maanden) (HR: 0,62 [95%-BI: 0,52-0,74]; P < 0,001). Deze beperkte PFS-winst voldoet op grond van de HR aan de PASKWIL-criteria voor een voorlopig positief advies. De OS kan in deze interim-analyse formeel nog niet beoordeeld worden. Over de ITT-groep kan de commissie BOM geen oordeel geven. De bijwerkingen waren grotendeels zoals verwacht bij de combinatie carboplatine-paclitaxel-bevacizumab. Er werd geen ernstige additionele toxiciteit gezien van de toevoeging van atezolizumab. Bijwerkingen en kosten zouden mee moeten wegen in de keuze van behandeling.
