Oraal tegafur/uracil (UFT) met leucovorin versus intraveneus 5FU/LV
De combinatie van oraal UFT/LV biedt een alternatief voor het intraveneuze Mayo Clinics-schema. Het is hieraan equivalent, met een groter gebruiksgemak en minder toxiciteit, met name minder frequent optreden van mucositis. UFT/LV lijkt dus een goed alternatief voor behandeling met alleen het standaard MAYO-regiem, zoals dit momenteel vaak wordt toegepast bij minder fitte of oudere patiënten.
De definitieve plaats van UFT/LV in combinaties met irinotecan of oxaliplatin moet echter nog worden afgewacht.
